Sand Piper Poem by Will Richey

Sand Piper

Sand Piper
Looking down
What will you find
On the ground?
Songs written in the sand
Bodies writhing
Urgent binding
Chinese candles, ashes grand.
Blood red moon
On distant strand
Of star strewn canvas
God's own hand.
Shooting stars
Full tumescence
Lovers stroke
In luminescence.
Sand Piper
Hither and yon
What will you find
Upon the dawn?
