The fading light of love
crept along a silent path
spilling shadows
on forgotten kisses
till
covering her heart


I went all the way to San Antone
and still
I have no answer


Roses wait at her door
flowers left abandoned.
colors now drained
like my sprit
petals
falling to the floor

Life's pages turning
in a book unread
simply a place
to hide my eyes
least
I see my reflection


I went all the way to San Antone
miles and miles
to find an answer
only silence greeted me
