Same Ol' Same Ol' Poem by Randy Briggs

Same Ol' Same Ol'

Everyday was the same day,
The same routine but it never grew old.
Wake, fill bowl with marijuana,
Snort lines on table,
Ignore breakfast.

Sit out in my backyard, on my pedestal holding a
Cigarette while longing for lesser
Loneliness. Amused that I have been
Waiting for something to happen, as though it does.

Action! I take Action! No I lie.
The actions I take make the only things
Worth mentioning go on inside my mind.
I can get through once more.
How long ‘till I sleep again?

Open books, time to learn.
Lear how interaction interacts within interaction.
Learn how America is going under and our education system
Only teaches the young that they are who they are and that they are those
For the future.

Such wickedness, such nonsense.
Learn how the world moves.
Learn how they must become productive
Learn how poor the poor are and will always be.
Failed systems nobody cares! Don’t step out of line or you’re wrong.
Subtle messages flow into the minds of the young, support status quo.

Why? I never get answers, only “because”

I want to make my own and create what
The gods have failed to show what is once
More worth creating.
Evening, jaw clickity clack left and right,
White mouse up all night
Wake up the same life.
