Salty Suspension Poem by Cailey Martin

Salty Suspension

Rating: 4.5

Table
salt falling
in, clearing up
negative space, falling
out. Sorcery in disguise, telltale
sign of discomfort: electricity running
up my arms; sitting, waiting. Now electricity
is crawling up my arms, slowing, slowing, down
to caterpillar. Drops of water from a leaky faucet. Rising up, up, abouttoboilover..!

Saved
it. Salt the
water. Table salt
falling in, clearing up
negative space. Sorcery,
sorcery is what this is! Electricity
running up my arms. Nothing left to do but
sit, wait. Falling out of myself, rising up, about to boil
over... Telltale sign of discomfort: electricity crawling up my arms. Caterpillarfallingin!

Saved
it. Drops of
water from a leaky
faucet. Salt the water.
