Sages Thoughts, Lovers Hearts Poem by T.A. Rosenbaum

Sages Thoughts, Lovers Hearts

Spoken words may tell a lie
Often found, more often hidden
Words that are left unspoken
Often lost, less often bidden
Will show the truth, will show the why
Often times in eyes are written
Why in them the truth is spoken
Why in us the truth is broken
For spoken words may tell a lie

The heart cannot hide its longing
Often strong, more often gentle
Deceiving in how soft its courses
Often long and sentimental
Always to you belonging
That fond pull is instrumental
For ever your thought and heart divorces!
Ever your thought remorses
Ever your heart enforces
For the heart cannot hide its longing
