Safe Word Poem by Rickardo BecklesBurrowes

Safe Word

You're not too good to hurt me
leave decency at my door
as you take off your belt, imagine it around my wrists
hardening places unseen.
Sudden burst of palm toward neck,
head turned (I see you still) , words chug out between
heated breath telling me not to resist.
Then, the world outside my bedroom no longer exists,
bind me tighter than the last; naked we struggle.
Waiting for me to utter it, breaking inside
without knowing that I won't say a word until I'm satisfied.
