I am merciless against his gaze
silken finger tips trace the lines of my face
my cheeks like rose petals
shine red in responce
I cave in effortlessly
climbing into his grasp
my haven
holding me gently
making my mind wander
to a time when everything was safe
his lips delicately graze my hair
I turn away
never once giving any clue
to the power he holds over me
standing now
I look down and see
his eyes burning even brighter
like a becon
calling a lost ship into shore
trapped
I am almost pulled back in
but with a great effort
of which I thought not possible
I pull away
for in this day and age
safe is meerly a word
no longer reality
