Sadness Poem by Shane Dickie

Sadness

Sadness has a thousand shades,
Happiness had ten; sometimes I
Feel all the sad ones, from low to
Medium and back to myself again.

Sadness we all feel from time to time,
We can relate to moments of doubt,
And Fear.

Sadness is a sour fruit like lemons
Our true pain, yet we cannot enjoy
The sweetness of figs without first
Experiencing the bitterness of this
Sour fruit; the one we try to avoid,
The relationship to joy
Is elusive as it is distained
