Ruinous Tide. Poem by Tom Allport

Ruinous Tide.

Rating: 5.0

No one is listening to my pain
Even though I think I am the only one sane
Got to get away but where to hide?
Can no longer face up to a ruinous tide
I know I'm loved and yet want to die
Sad but true and I don't know why
I am now alone in a mountainous cave
Quietly waiting, got to be brave.

A deeply poignant poem. Mental illness is hard to cope with. Beautifully crafted.
