Royal Poem by Francis Oaks

Royal

You know, sometimes the world becomes a lot smaller than anticipated.

Without warning,
Without thought,
Without reason.

Sometimes you loose yourself and just stumble upon something unique, amazing and ultimately - so special.

You wonder, how did I ever get by without you before,
how did I ever not see the universe in such a wonderful way,
how did I ever not have you in my life before.

Wether exhausted at 1 in the morning, or you waking up at 3 in the afternoon, you captivated the room.

Sometimes I would wonder what it was. But you walk in, or I trample back home and everything just stops. We talk for hours, and anything we felt - tired, sick, lost.

It all just floats away.

I get lost with you, I talk with you, I sing with you. From behind locked doors and sacrementous prime minister's telling us our life can't be what we need it to be so we shape it ourselves and sing through the night. We laugh through the night. We cry through the night.

But we did it together. And there's not a moment I would have wanted to spend it else where because we could change the world, you and I, we could be standing at the forefront of society telling our plans to the world because

nothing could stop us when we spoke,
nothing could stop us when we laughed,
nothing could stop us when we sang.

I thought nothing could stop us when we sang.

But now I walk home and the door feels heavier.

The room much quieter.

Every song I play is like playing with diminished chords.

Unfinished,
Unresolved,
Unspoken.

The unspoken words, that no matter what we do you seem to find away to

Always forgive him,
Always love him,
Always run back to him.

Because it didn't matter what you left behind. The world will change some other day.

But my world will never shed light on what this used to be.
