Rotten Rain Poem by Abby Kimball

Rotten Rain

You don’t have me,
You can’t hold on,
I slip through the cracks,
Struck with frustration
You’ll throw your back against the wall,

Such an issue,
Such a bother,
Having to take such care,
Such an indiscretion,
Such a cause,
So shocking all you do is stare,

There is nothing wrong with me,
It’s just the way I was raised,
Sacrificing happiness,
On to many rainy days,

How have you been sleeping?
Since I last kissed your cinnamon lips,
I have been over eating,
Since you last traced my hips,

You turn a new tide,
You pick a new wave,
I will write a screen play,
About how I was saved,

I can get love from the lightning,
From a book of folk lore,
The cracks in my ceiling,
An apple rotting to its core,
