Rivers Of No Returns Poem by Ramona Thompson

Rivers Of No Returns

Dare we to swim?

So far we can't turn back?

Can't go back

To the way it was before

The floods are coming

And I feel, baby

We are slowly drowning

Losing ourselves

To love slowly

Draining away into a bitter hate

Chorus

Rivers of no returns

We're floating

Losing our flow

Coming to the realization slow

We two aren't

The one we used to be

Now it's almost all over

And I don't understand

Where we went wrong

Is love gonna make it?

Or is this our final stand?

Swimming againest the tides of

The rivers of no returns

Coming or going?

Do we even know anymore?

Seems like we just keep on

Over and over again

Hitting the roadblocks

Head on

Meeting a mess

What's the use anymore?

Boy, can you tell me?

Chorus

So easy

Once upon a time

I fell

Now it seems to be

In love

I'm rapidly

Falling out of

How about you?

Are you still my loverboy?

Or have I become to you, honey

Simply another broken toy

Chorus 2X
