River Song

The River Boy he heard the call
But he marched to a different drummer

He flew Northward with the Byrds
And spent a Canadian summer

He came back down and hit this town
There's never been another

Who played guitar
Such a brilliant star
How proud he'd make his mother

But none too soon life transformed
His road map from above

Blessed he was with two sweet ones
And a beautiful wife to love

But that my friend is not the end
Turns out its only the beginning

Just when life seemed set in stone
His world it started spinning

He found himself in life alone
Still looking for a mate

It must be written in the sky
How could this be his fate

This River man
He made new plans

But it wasn't what he hoped
And though his heart was torn apart
He's never one to mope

He picked his heart up from the ground
Not much can keep him down

A second chance and a beautiful wife
Along came twins what a happy life

As the river winds it also turns
It gives a man no slack

But in this life he has to know
God's always had his back

He never became a rock n roll star
But he still loves his sweet guitar

So if you think that's how it ends
There is more to tell you know it

His dreams of music far away
Instead he became a poet
