Rising Moon Poem by Patrick Villareal

Rising Moon

Darkness empowers my lonely remains
My arms are tied by the devils chains
I rise along side the blackened moon
As one whole; perfectly in tune
There could not be a more opportune time
This world of darkness is now mine!
From the night skies to the bottomless seas
To the dead trees and chilling breeze
It is all mine!
The dead earth welcomes me kindly
As I embrace its cold fog blindly
The moons light I now obtain
As it pollutes me thoughtless brain
My fingers tremble as dead grass blows through the air
My knees buckle as I forsake the lights care
The rising moon becomes my only friend
Comforting me until my bitter end
As it stands high in the night sky
I must abide or helplessly die
The nights misery finally sets in
I live in sorrow under the devils grin
The sun has forever set
Swallowed by the ocean as I will forever regret
Surrendering to my only friend
The risen moon.
