Rip Apart Poem by Hannah Rose

Rip Apart

Rip apart
The pieces that were never there slip through my fingers
I don’t bleed
I don’t cry
I don’t move
I sit
My lips parted
No smile
No frown
I sit
My hands struggling to grasp where dark and light meet
I sit
I try and see
I try to be all I wish I was and am not
Rip apart my soul
Rip it
Can you?
Can you defy my defiance?
Can you take away my pride?
No
No
Only I have that power
I am not mistaken in that
I never give up
I’ll never give in
This is not my weakness
This is my strength
My defiance
I will not change and bend
I will not let myself down
I will not give in
Yet
Here I sit
I sit
I sit
Weak and powerless externally
But internally
I am raging
Inside
I am alive
Rip apart
You can’t rip me apart
I am to strong
My walls are to powerful
My water flows to pure
Of this
Of this I am sure
