It breaks my heart to see you cry
There is nothing I can do
I watch you die.

Slipping slowly away from me
There is nothing I can do
Why can't you see?

I reach out my hand to ease your pain
There is nothing I can do
It's all in vain.

I whispered my goodbyes into your ear
There was nothing I could do
So I held you near.

I hovered beside as you took your last breath
There was nothing I could do
Rest now, my love, in death.
