Responsibility Poem by Jennifer Peckins

Responsibility

Finally it comes down to me
My ignorance
My feeling of superiority
It’s gotten old
I can’t blame anyone else any longer
For the twisted games I play
That I thought made me stronger
My weakness shining through
Giving me away
Shrinking me down to the size
I hoped would never see the light of day
It’s all my fault
For withering slowly
To nothing and no one
Who can’t feel anything but lonely
