Responding To Zhu Qinyu Poem by Frank Yue

Responding To Zhu Qinyu

— Zhang Ji (Tang Dynasty)
— Translated by Frank C Yue

From Mirror Lake with fresh makeup the Yue maiden comes along,
Confident of her own radiance and beauty.
Sighing in vain are the other richly-dressed young ladies.
Worth a lot of gold pieces is her Water Chestnut Song.

《酬朱慶餘》唐.張藉

越女新妝出鏡心,
自知明艷更沉吟。
齊紈未足時人貴,
-曲菱歌敵萬金。
