Repentance Poem by James Fumich

Repentance

As I lay here each night
I sit and I pray,
For God's blessed light
To show a better way.

I was going nowhere.
My life was a bust.
So I know this is fair
And I know this is just.

And if I could ask
For just one wish,
I would have
Forgiveness.

And I know deep down
That I was wrong.
Lost but now found,
As they say in that song.

So I sleep here each night,
And count down the days,
And thank God for his light,
And his eternal grace.
