Reminiscence Of My Dancer Poem by Sanju Chakraborty

Reminiscence Of My Dancer

She danced in the rain prancing wildly about
The passionate ravings, one could hear her shout
The songs of life lived in Heaven
The same for which I would have craven

She danced in the sun shining over the meadow
The world transfixed by her bravado
Hiding the fear that tethers her rein
She danced and danced and danced again

She danced in the snow warming up the night
She reigned in the hearts not with her might
But affection and love that she shared in plenty
The look of innocence and genuine dainty

She danced in the spring adding colour to life
Erasing the lacerations with her knife
Of the sweet smile and the loving fragrance
Yearning for which was my comeuppance

Alas she dances no more now
The sweetness soured by time, but how?
No more the light falls on my heart
My dreams all sunken, seeing her part

In vain, I search for the long lost smile
As sorrow wraps me in a smothering pile
My eyes, they stare in misery and pain
As life within me begins to drain

In the dark is she lost, lost from sight
No more is there my reason to fight
But my daring hope, it still lives on
To see her dance in the new dawn

My empty world, my empty soul,
Beckons her with a love so whole
Oh Lord! For once let her see
Before my soul is returned to thee.
