Remember My Name Poem by Haley Revell

Remember My Name

I’m so sick of you
Putting words in my mouth
Thoughts in my head
You’ve been screwing with
My feelings again
And you see
I don’t think
You heard me

I don’t think
You understand
This mental overload’s
Got me thinking crazy
And God better help you
Because no one else
Will have the chance
This is where I put my foot down
This is where I make my stand
And you see,
You never heard
A word I said
And we both know
You were never my friend

You have never been there
So you think I don’t know
Or I don’t care
But I remember death
In an endless stare

And you see,
You never heard me scream rage in vain
Or saw the tears when my sand castle crumbled
To a single grain
And you have a lot to learn
About the pain

And you stand tall
With pride in your eyes
Even though your life was
built on nothing but lies

You look down on me
With pity and shame
But this is a part of the game
And you BETTER remember my name
