Deceptive Love Poem by Haley Revell

Deceptive Love

Feels so cold in this bed alone
It chills me down to the bone
It’s been so long since I have felt your touch
It’s been so long since I’ve felt the love

I don’t know if I can make it on my own
This pain I feel deep inside you’d never know
Don’t know why you left me
Now I must set you free

See me now, cold steel in my hand
So comforting, now I understand
But now I know the truth
The only one who’s been deceived is you

So sweet, naïve, innocent you
Thought of me
But you were blind
To blind to see

Deception, my only friend
So your life, I must end
No one could love you like I could
But you didn’t love me like you should

Now I’m in control
Now it’s time for you to pay with your soul
Through your eyes, I saw the mind
Plot of destruction, the loving kind

See me now, cold steel in my hand
So comforting, yes I understand
Time for you to die too
Cold steel, death in my hands
Don’t you understand?
I did it all for you
