Remember.... Poem by neha sharma

Remember....

REMEMBER......

Remember the times.......
We walked up the sea-shore,
The crystal sea water wiped our feet,
With our fingers hooked into one another’s,
We sat on the sun baked sand,
And counted the birds that flew to embrace the sky.
Remember the times.......
I, older than you,
Always dogmatic in attitude,
Instructing you to follow me,
Directing you to move after me,
And you did with your mawkish looks.
Remember the times.......
We fought with each other,
Scratching, kicking in face,
Abusing and cursing each other,
Me and you then cried,
Tears in our eyes,
We then hugged each other.
Remember the times.......
We went on a spree,
I prepared the hammock,
And quarreled with you,
For who will eat the remnants of
Aromatic pancakes and why.
We ran after each other,
Playing ‘fie in the mountain’,
Went fishing to the lake.
Remember the times.......
Memories and more memories.......
We are now grown ups,
Know our priorities,
We have moved on,
But not left each other,
We have chosen two different roads,
But once we treaded miles together,
We have gone ahead,
But not unhooked our fingers,
At the back of our minds,
Memories are still rooted,
Memories.......
Of our togetherness,
Of our unconditional love,
Of our unbreakable connections,
Of our undetachable emotions,
Of our being siblings.
But......
This is not the culmination,
This is not the final farewell,
This is not the end,
This does not stop us.......
From feeling for each other,
From loving each other,
From being with each other.
This is a re-start of our lives,
A re-affirmation of our existence,
A re-establishment of our connections,
A re-building of our love.
Walking the sea-shore,
Going on a spree,
Playing with the children,
Instructing the children,
I remember those times,
I remember YOU.
Those times have not faded,
Those times do not loom like a mirage,
But are re-built,
But are re-established,
But are re-affirmed,
But are re-started.
Walking past those familiar places,
Reminiscing those treasured moments,
Memorizing those cherished days,
Remembering those precious times,
You will also remember me....... WON’T YOU?
