Relationships Poem by indira babbellapati

Relationships

Rating: 5.0

some are passing clouds
they leave unbearable humidity behind

some are incessant rains
they don't leave one a moment to think

some are tsunamis
nothing of you is left behind

some are whirlwinds, where
they take one is any body's guess

some are like deflated balloons
none can put air back into them

some are hydrogen balloons
they escape from grasp without a signal

some are a phone out of order
the ring goes on but none responds

some are like one's shadow
the length and breadth keeps varying

some are candles flickering against wind
they neither blow away nor give enough light

whatever, each relationship adds
a new dimension to life and
determines life at each stage

each brings in some spring
some gentle breeze
combined with a soft drizzle
that sustains one for a while

I think we can put back air into a deflated balloon. Punctured or equivalent word might be better. Nice poem.

Relationships are multy-dimensional, multifaced and these have been depicted in this beautiful poem.Nice to read.

I'm a little surprised you haven't tapped into this subject more head on earlier. I think you put some good thought into this, Indira. It's got a stark honesty to it that sweeps under you as you go through it. I know it's a subject that's at the very core of who you are especially. I'm sure you could add volumes to it if you wanted. a very simple and endearing piece.... soft and soothing to read. loved it. and one should maintain relationships too.... lest they glide away softly, like some faraway clouds, softly lingering... some obscurities, unreachable.
