Regrets Poem by Jodie Mayhew

Regrets

Yesterday has Been and Gone
Sometimes, We Can't Forget
The Things that We have Said or Done
They Plague Us with Regret.
A Nasty Word. Or Bitter Feud
Gets Far Too Out of Hand
And Then You Find. You Can't Think WHY.
The Argument even Began.

The Years Roll On and Distance Grows
In Time. In Place. In Heart
But Deep Inside, You Always Yearn
To Go Back to That Part.
For One Chance to Change. That Fateful Day
If You Could've Just Foreseen
The Sadness.The Loss. The Emptiness
Your World Turned Out To Be!
