Refusal Poem by Sophia White

Refusal

poking, prying
all day long
sticking noses
where noses don't
belong

sneaking, slying
like a snake
fragile hearts
are easy hearts to
break

frowning, faulting
all my travels
shaking head
as if heads were
gavels

sniffing, snubbing
as if the mange
were on the loose
still I won't choose
to change
