Refuge Poem by Dana Korneisel

Refuge

Safety in numbers,
a world with less anger
tolerate.
everyone.
always.

Don't yell, please, everyone tolerate everyone
always.

Always.

Don't cry now, out of your refuge,
You don't need to,

you'll get used to it
don't cry
you'll get back

to your Refuge.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The result of rubbing thin my defenses against the stresses of people yelling, realizing other people are worse with these situations than I am, and giving up my own calm to make them feel better.
