Red Clouds Hang On The West While The Sun Sat On A Mountain Ridge Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Red Clouds Hang On The West While The Sun Sat On A Mountain Ridge

Rating: 5.0

After two warmer days of sixty degrees
Temperature dropped to thirty this morning.
In addition to that, north winds were gusting
I tried to escape winter bite by covering my head.
I lowered my head while walking very fast
Under the white sunshine and the azure sky.
Even the sun shone today, it didn't help much
Because temperature is going to drop to ten degrees tonight.
As I drove to church this late afternoon
Red clouds hang on the west while the sun sat on a mountain ridge.
Other people were in the same hurry as I was
I returned home after attending the Sunday vigil mass.

Above is the English version of the Vietnamese poem of NHIEN NGUYEN MD:

TRỜI TÂY RÁNG ĐỎ, MẶT TRỜI ĐẦU NON

Sau hai ngày ấm sáu mươi
Sáng nay trời lạnh chỉ còn ba mươi.
Thêm vào gío bắc thật to
Tôi lo trốn lạnh, co ro trùm đầu.
Cúi đầu, tôi bước thật nhanh
Dưới trời nắng trắng, xanh lam bầu trời.
Nắng nhiều nhưng cũng như không
Đêm nay lạnh xuống khoảng mười độ thôi.
Chiều nay đi lễ nhà thờ
Trời tây ráng đỏ mặt trời đầu non.
Bao người vội vã như tôi
Sau khi dự lễ là tôi về nhà.
