Red Berries Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Red Berries

Red berries stunning in sunlight
Out of the deep a fountain of pain
Memories I must justify
Closure an on going battle

Common threads of the human journey
Death like great rocks always there
Now I look at wild flowers
I see bright red berries in the fall

Beauty is a balm
I open my eyes daily and authenticate
Thorns of self-pity grow
Red berries hang before the blue sky
