Red Poem by Calista Urbaniak

The last supper
2 day old pizza
and eggs with a secret ingredient and hot sauce
sleep
a sudden voice
marked the end leaving no time for an I love you to be possible
You said everything would be okay
I believed you
until you kissed me goodbye
and I was alone...
I confided in a part time liar
The box was almost empty
the lose of my life
seemed too great
I was asked if it was all true...
Key
Sleep
Feelings
Lies
I repeated the word friends; just friends
and just like that my life had been cut in half
not by my choosing
with a knife I was blinded to
The closeness of the control...
I cant do it
A bathtub was filled
The ultimate rebellion
Vertical
Horizontal
Criss Cross
Overlapping
These were the actions of my fingers attacking my wrist
'Hundred miles an hour in just a couple days'
This is what made the war end
Peacefully
Exchanging secret words
And vulnerable 5 minute sightings
