In every heart
There will be pain
From a loss of love
We can't explain

Sometimes the reasons
Are never known
But after each loss
We've somehow grown

Loss is the one thing
Everyone will face
Some try to hide it
Not show a trace

But loss is seen
In someone's eyes
You can try
But you can't hide

I have lost
At love before
I couldn't hide
Couldn't ignore

The fact my heart
Was in pain
But still I never
Loved in vain

Before the pain
The times were good
They didn't last
Like I hoped they would

So from loss
We learn then
That love can live
In our hearts again
