Reconcile A Dichotomy Poem by June FeirCruz

Reconcile A Dichotomy

Is it possible to fall in love with someone you do not respect?
Is it possible to fall in love with someone you do not trust?
Is it possible to fall in love with someone you are not comfortable with?
Is it possible to fall in love with someone who totally repulses you?

Is it just physicality?
Is it just sexual chemistry?
Is it just the nature of the beast?
Is it just the guilty pleasure of it all?

She defies you
She keeps secrets from you
She does what she wants
She comes and goes as she pleases

And you wait for more....you simply cannot live without her.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The lines of this piece shout out the inner conflict that is raging in the heart of the writer. That single line, beautifully isolated, at the end of the poem says it all. In spite of everything '... you simply cannot live without her.'
