Reckless Abandon Poem by Carly Wilson

Reckless Abandon

'Reckless abandon' what does it mean?
I let myself go and I forget what I've seen.

Forget what I know, the love lessons I've learned,
I regret everyday, the memories I should burn.

To lose you now would devastate and destroy me,
But we imagine that you want this, and I can't let you be.

I can't let you go and pretend you didn't happen,
You're my world from now on, my fever I can't dampen.

I wish I could ignore you, stamp out burning desire,
But it's you that I want and you stoke all my fires.

Don't make me regret this, wish I'd listened to my head,
I've put my faith in my heart, you're all I want for my bed.

All I want for my life, to complete and define me,
But i don't want to crumble, or compromise my sanity.
