Recipe For Rainer Poem by Meriki Raelene ParkinsonFraser

Recipe For Rainer

We made a recipe
your dad and me;
a rose for puckered lips,
and dappled sunlight
to dimple your cheeks.
For feet and hair
we added springs;
that may be why you
do funny things;
like bounce endlessly
and say 'go in the bin'
keeping beat on the drum
flashing your cheeky grin.
With your moonlit pond eyes
and your 'joi de vivre';
the most nourishing feast
for your dad and me.
