Rebellion Poem by Liz Motter

Rebellion

Do you feel the People's rage? For they rage against your acts.
Do you see the People fight? For they fight against what you have built.
Do you hear the People's voices? For they yell and scream at what you've wrought.
Do you taste the violence you have caused?
Do you see the pain and grief you've crafted?
Do you see the tidal wave that will sweep you away?
You cannot silence us.
You cannot look past us.
You cannot stop us.
We will burn the pillars on which you've stood for they no longer reflect our image but an image of greed.
We will destroy your masterpieces for they are no longer just.
Nothing of yours shall remain in one piece for everything will be smashed.
With the pieces we've destroyed, we will build a new, without you.
