Re-Imaging India Poem by Rajashi Sengupta Mothey

Re-Imaging India

In the eyes of many...
I was perceived, I see
As a newly wed bride...
But I've gently lifted my veil,
To see the world outside.

Trials and Tribulations,
Anger and Frustrations,
Are a part of me.
Nonetheless I forge ahead,
With arms spread,
Receiving you in my embrace.

I was always there,
For you to see
But you never looked at me.
Singing a myriad song,
I have always stood strong.
You walk my many thousand sands,
You, my children!
For I, am your Motherland.
