Re-Birth Poem by Sujay Sam

Re-Birth

Here I lie in the palm of your hands;
A caterpillar you've rescued from a broken land.
Accepted by a selfless love that made no demands;
Made you my rock, the foundation on which I stand.

Through trials and temptations, You tested my love for you;
To make me realize that your promises were true.
But the disappointments & pain that I'd face soon;
Made me run & hide in my own cocoon.

Ashamed of facing reality; I hid myself in Isolation;
Brought down by gravity, I cried out to you in frustration.
I called and claimed the promises you had for me;
Called out to the Savoir who had set the caterpillar free.

You heard my call and stood by my side;
Told me that you'd help, I'd never have to hide.
Washed and cleansed by your Blood stained on the cross;
Your death for me was never counted as loss.

Words cannot describe the peace that filled my mind;
As I was set free from the ties that bind.
I spread my wings, a renewed creature born again;
A butterfly on a journey, an eternal kingdom to gain.
