Easter - The Second Chance Poem by Sujay Sam

Easter - The Second Chance

' It is finished", He said in grief and pain
Breathed His last, Knowing it's all for man's gain.
This brutal death, sealed by His disciple's kiss,
30 pieces of silver, never enough for one man's bliss.

The serpent's face smirked with a smile
For the messiah's death, to him seemed futile.
But soon his glee would turn to gloom;
As my Savoir had indeed, risen from His tomb.

The third day He rose, defeating death's painful sting;
Endured the way of the cross, so to Him praises we sing.
He died for us, under man's own cruel decree,
His love so dear, set the slumberers free.

Easter is about one man's premeditated persecution
That saved our entire race, condemned to damnation.
So rejoice in Him and truly believe,
A second chance in life, you may receive!
