Rained Upon Poem by Jack Sedman

Rained Upon

this strange state of
walled memories and walks
turning tunnels of thought.
Grey and bright, one day
Another passes by, wrapped
up in cocoon of self, against
your dark eyes appearing
stride on stride
from the crowds. the crowds
see those lips. Time tumbles
around: these words fall
thumping, flatten the ground.

this skin sags and dries
like sliding paint sticks
in unfinished corners
left undone. You, in that
space, echo the scales
sounding in my ears up
and down. Same new
routine of people, bricks
blocked up. And you,
Unfortunate,
Locked in a dead mind
On a dead day.
