Raindrops Poem by Medea Kali

Raindrops

There aren’t raindrops falling on my head no more
My dear drugged alcoholic friend
You spoke witful and sobering words into my existence
In amazement, I listened as you ate your greens

How did this come to be?
I listened to the wisdom of pretentious mates
Sought the elixir of forgetfulness in tainted wine glasses
In my sobriety, you actually spoke some sense to me

I shake the remanents of those raindrops
Life is not all gloomy and dark
Happiness is not far ahead, waiting to step up and greet me
