Rainbow In The Sun Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

Rainbow In The Sun

Rating: 5.0

Day breaks, time unfolds
Many whole nights had gone
But now, still on this same road
Where true love was born
I had endured the scorching sun,
That greeted me every dawn
My feet, swollen with sprains
As I travel in heavy rains
The road was no dear friend
But Alas! I found its end
With a gift of love enclose
With beauty that shone like rose
She was dressed like a royal born
Just like a rainbow in the sun

All my love I give to you,
For you and only you,
The royal empress of my world
Who brought my joy on-board
Give me your arm, a smile
That appeal to my only eye
Give to me my greatest want
No other thing but your heart
Please accept my plea of reunion
Think about our home in one union
Together, let's build our daily spring
And raise a nation… our offspring's
Now that we are glued as a pair
I pray we shall never repel
