Rag To Raji Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

Rag To Raji

Farwell son, and never forget the oar
That steered your sail against time.
Remember your brothers, remember luck
Look into the south-westly, winds
As it send messages of piling appeals
Back to the root that made you.
Have a recap, a glimpse of expedition
As you traveled across muted cities
And clans of lows and busy mediocre
Neck bent to their daily quickies
Who never watch to wave goodbye
To your small dampen cruiser
That bears insult from off-shore boatmen.
We are all boatmen on voyages
But miles and wood doggedness, separate
Depending on how far your sail persists
Bring home to your wanting brothers
That oar of life changing tales
That propelled you from rag to Raji
