Quick Glance Of Atlanta Poem by Rocky Lizardi.Brown

Quick Glance Of Atlanta

Rating: 5.0

Their gazes set hard so fixed
as if to suggest...something;
) pale rust of the tin, too proud,
they favor the broken bricks and
their steel curtains. This song mixed
to men as if to suggest...nothing;
) mouths gaping breathless and too loud
at flesh flagging from girders like sand
or flags unfurled over the river Styx.
too often these men, women...children ring
) the bank, so muddy, there is no ground
or footholds for them. Here the simpleness of man
displays how he mimics
himself as if to suggest...Something.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Wrote this after visiting Atlanta, Georgia. The horrible upkeep of the city disgusted and enthralled me. The city inspires and repulses its visitors.

Original, the picture you paint with words is so vivid and with great insight you lay bare it's soul! !
