Questions Arising Poem by NurViktoria Ellen

Questions Arising

When we are together

Do we cast shadows
or are we but spheres
without reflection without
footprints?
Do we make waves on the shore, shaping dunes
or do we make ripples
of foam
lost at sea?
Do we shed light on our ways
with glimpses
or do we obscure
the true colours of our souls?
Do we speak volumes sincere from the heart
or are we just
stealing voices
parroting figures of speech
without consequence?
Do we make music
together
or are we but flat exclamations
without an echo without
listeners?
Do we change history, turning
new leaves
for you for me
or are we but contemporaries
spending time?
