Quarantined Being Love-Sick Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Quarantined Being Love-Sick

With a deep hurt at heart I'm lying flat
without verve and spirit to rise and write.
I'm quarantined myself being love-sick
with cellphone in hand, waiting for the message
favourable, lifting the ban imposed,
a week back with a warning to stop messages.
What a shock the ultimatum gave to me!
For two days, I felt no taste of food.
"Am I horrible? ", the question rose in me.

As the nestling waits for her lovely mother
gone out seeking food, I keep the phone on
almost for twenty hours; but my rude Ruby
has the heart of Steel not to move or to grieve.
She is free and friendly with all others
but in my presence, her face changes stern
and with scorn she looks, with disdain she speaks.
I'm not to scare but on her take more care.
She knows me well yet she wants to hiss at me.
