Punished History Poem by Quênia Lalita

Punished History

'This history will break the heart of every human being who has a heart that can be broken.' - Kurt Vonnegut, The Sirens of Titan

i look at a tree
and there's history there

i stare at the stars
and they all explode history, somehow

i feel the wind, it blows my hair
it is history, touching me, invisibly

you and i, we are history too
you've no idea how tiring that is to endure sometimes

but we all are destined to become history, one day
that's the only thing that can mend my heart, one sweet day
