Public Embarrassment Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Public Embarrassment

You are correct.
And with you we do agree.
A public embarrassment,
To have displayed intentionally.
Is not part of the constitution.
We understand your concerns.
And have already considered your rights.
To keep them protected.
Therefore,
We will take your confessed misdeeds privately.
Using the most advanced video equipment.
You will not notice at all,
Where the cameras are installed.
Trust me.
In fact,
To test it.
We have several tapes of you,
Cheating on your spouse.
And I must say,
The quality is so vivid.
It is as if,
You had invited us to witness each act.
There were times I had to lower my head.
And close my eyes.
But my ears?
Stayed on you like a bat with radar.
