Prudence Poem by Kebe Iwara

Prudence

Rating: 1.0

1
Often i sleep
with saliva in my mouth
i purse my lip
to prevent the uncouth.

But when i wake
i see a slithering lake.

11
Often my eyes
are closed to hide my fears
i see the lies
when they open in tears.

Rather, the mind
is unguarded from behind.

111
Often my heart
demarcates you with a wall
so we are apart
till the bridal night.it could fall.

A wall may be stone
but it can still be prone.

1v
Often i hide from God
i feel so animated
by his flaming sword
for before him i'm naked.

But God is not a girl
i needn't hide my bell.
