Prelude To Octoberfest Poem by June Allegra Elliott

Prelude To Octoberfest

Softly, softly, float
liquid amber leaves and maple, on
Autumn's languid golden air,
Prelude to Octoberfest upon
the village green
Where are the winsome bright checked
lads and lasses,
costumed and holding hands?
Waiting, waiting now, for
jolly concertina and
deep voiced oompa-pa!
Waiting, waiting now, for
whirling waltz and polka!
