Precious Roe Poem by Joshua Merchand

Precious Roe

This morning in a talk with Lord of Life
Quiet time: Shared my Heart: Life, Hope, Love, Wife.
Started to pout. I asked “why? ”; had troub’d heart:
Why did You; God, keep us so long apart?

Life’s a meal! So I thought; Jeanette’s dessert! !
Jesus laughed, lifted me; loving, safe girt:
“Dearest son, please look here; see the blind bear; ”
“Stumbling, full of pride Blind Bear you are! ”

“Now see up to Jeanette, My Precious Roe, ”
“Heart of Love, full of Faith, feet swift and sure”
“Sweet Jeanette’s been with Me waiting, you see”
“For you, son, call’d Blind Bear to mature! ”

I admit, Sweet Jeanette, I wed way up
Jeanette, Please! Patience. Our loving cup!
